The Government of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam has set out “Vision 2035” with the plan to achieve a knowledgeable society, improved quality of life and sustainable development. Key enablers of both the smart society and the goals of Wawasan Brunei 2035 are ubiquitous access to broadband connectivity and widespread use of broadband-enabled services.
Brunei Next Generation Network (BNGN) is an initiative by the Authority for Info-communications Technology Industry of Brunei Darussalam (AITI), with the support of Ministry of Communication (MOC),that will spearhead the efforts to realise this vision. BNGN addresses current and future broadband technologies and services within Brunei Darussalam and will facilitate the delivery of broadband connectivity, enhancing its value, quality and maximise adoption. Together with the government and the ICT industry, BNGN aims to facilitate thegrowth of socio-economic development in the nation by improving human-capacity building, accessibility to information and creating opportunities, in areas such as e-government, health, education, security, businesses, and communications. |
OBJECTIVE
Brunei Next Generation Network (BNGN) aims to:
- Forge collaboration with government and stakeholders to develop broadband sectors and a sustainable broadband-oriented environment,
- Improve the quality of service (QoS) by ensuring the broadband infrastructure adheres to international standards and best practices,
- Improve the quality of experience (QoE) and introduce new technologies, and
- Provide education to public by creating awareness and encourage user adoption.
